Good news from Regenerate:
We thought we were being ambitious with our Christmas fundraising campaign but thanks to all the generous support, we smashed the target!
With our match funding partner doubling every single donation – Antal Charitable Foundation, we now have the £25,000 we needed we were trying to raise towards our mentoring service in 2024!
Our goal this year is to mentor 170 young people that are referred to Regenerate, helping them grow in confidence, work through the challenges they face, and build the key skills they need to thrive in life. Without mentors for young people, life can be a lot tougher to navigate – but with the money from our Christmas campaign we are now able to guarantee one of our full time mentors’ salaries for another year as we grow the service and change young people’s lives.
Creating Opportunities for Young People to Thrive
Regenerate’s Story:
Over the last year, our mentoring service has been there for young people across the Borough. We’ve mentored 108 young people so far this year, and 96% of the young people we’ve worked with have shown improvement.
The young people we work with come from lots of different backgrounds and struggle with a range of issues, but mainly we work with young people who are struggling with behavioural issues, exclusion, social issues, or struggling with their mental health.
Often these young people don’t have a stable support system around them, and so the support that they receive from our mentors is invaluable.
Providing this can be a challenge though, as we need fully trained and dedicated mentors, as well as the resources that we use to deliver sessions.
Without the support of generous people like you who want to make a difference in their community, we wouldn’t be able to do it.
This new year, our goal is to mentor 170 young people, and help them improve their confidence, social skills, ability to plan, and self management, in order to create a more positive future for themselves, and thrive.
